Iman is officially a kindergarden graduate!

Congratulations Iman for 4 years in Arif Minda  (2014-2017(end))!!!
The progress you have shown to us is more than enough to make me a proud mommy!
We love you son! You have done well.

Congratulations to all teachers as well!

Iman's convo took place in the lovely hall of Auditorium Cempaka Sari, Presint 3 Putrajaya last Sunday (5th November). My mom decided to come along and support as well and to her surprise the convocation was really a wow for a kindergarden graduation. kudos to the arif minda team!! Yay!

The concert (being called ihtifal which means concert in arabic) involves only 6 yrs students from Arif Minda which compromises of 5 branches in Shah Alam mainly. Iman took place in a drama act about the modern war as a soldier and i could say was a good actor! hehehe.. no stage frights this time haha. bagus!

I'm a happy mom indeed :) I could say that sending off your kids as early as 3 to playschool is a good thing in his development. Inshallah.

Love you lots Iman!

VBA2C - The inspiring thoughts for me

" Stop worrying of what will go wrong and start being positive of what might go right"

Collected by a dear sister in vbac/ICAN Malaysia community.
A topic in ICAN group Malaysia about "How will you remember your csections this April" in the conjuction of Cesarean Awareness Month. Support for whoever you are who plan for VBAC/VBAMC.

Well a doctor may have all the words she/he wants to say to make you agree to go under the knife. Wait until she had to go under too and let her colleague cut her tummy up.

Thank you sis!
============================

KH (VBAC)
My 1st scar turn 3 this 6th June.. Since I start preggy my no.2, I start gain knowlegde more & more about birth, more than during my pharmacy student life  thanks to Maria Zain (VBA2C) & Sofia Azyze (VBA4C) for gave me such inspiration to achieve my dream birth.. Alhamdulillah, I had a wonderful homebirth exactly 25 months after my 1st scar.

LA (VBA2C)
Allah is the best planner. Now I can smile seeing my scars (2 csects 2007, 2009). My first scar was so ugly. So thick with keloid. (Itchy summore). My second csect the doctors did an excellent job scrubbing off the keloid and left only a very thin line. I would like to remember the 2nd csect as my beauty makeover. And to have a very beautiful natural birth after 4.5 years after that, is priceless. I have prepared myself for the long hours of contraction journeyed by vbamc moms. Alhamdulillah it was just a "short" 6 hours labour.

SK (VBA2C)
My scar will turn 8 October this year. I recovered from the physical cut without issues but I'm still recovering from the emotional scar it left me. Most mums were conscious when they had to go through their csect, I wasn't. I had a bad reaction to the anaesthesia and was not there when my daughter came to this world. I regained consciousness 2 days after the surgery and no feelngs registered. That emotional scar still lingers until today. About 5 years after the cut, I had a drug free hospy VBAC in 2010, and a homebirth in 2011. My scarred womb went through a total of 77 hours of labor. InsyaAllah sisters, with the right knowledge and placing your faith at the right place, you can birth the way we're intended to birth.

AA (VBA2C)
My first scar turned 4yr just a week ago. The second scar is almost 3 yr. I do not have fond memories of those scars as they were healing postpartum. But i do not regret them either. Because through those scars, i had my baby boys. Looking at it reminds me of both times when i was in OT, their first cries, the pink mush on their faces, how excited i was to see their faces when a nurse finally brought them to me etc etc. Don't deny the scars. Don't hold on to the pain, but remember the baby that came from it. Looking back, i believe my csects were totally avoidable. Had i educated myself better, i should've just stayed at home and not cave in to an induction. The medical team wheeled me in for csection because of failure to progress at 8cm. I learn now, that it was simply failure to stay upright and labour actively

MW (VBA2C)
It was almost 7 years ago when I had my first, and 4 years ago for the last one. I hope it will really be the last last time. Aamiin... Masya allah. I keep remembering the day that i did my VBA2C everytime I smell the parfume I sprayed in my labor room... To tell you how long my labor was I'm not sure when my labor start, because I had 2 days of "labor trial" if I may call that instead of "false labor", first contractions was like every 10 minutes for the whole night, and second was 3 days later every 4 minutes for the whole night as well. I was almost desperate the next day, I thought doctor must had cut my "birth muscle". And when I was in doubt I pray "Ya allah, please give me your decision". Alhamdulillah I finally gave birth the next day, on 41w + 5d.

MZ (VBA3C)
My third scar aged 6 years. And it had endured a 14 hours labor (and 8 hours of it consisted of contractions of 1 minutes gap!) My labor pattern was quite "rough" but my scarred womb is still strong to withstand the contractions! Subhanallah... Now that I have a 9 month old baby, it feels unbelievable, indescribable that whenever I touch my csect scar, it is not a new one - no numbness, no soreness, no sadness - but a feeling of satisfaction and empowerement instead due to the fact that I finally had my vaginal birth, against all odds! Alhamdulillah........

NI (VBA3C)
Masyaallah amazing strength the scars reminded us. I have accepted every single scar that I had 2007, 2009 and 2011. I have made peace with them. I acknowledged my part of the mistake. Being uninformed and naive. I no longer cry nor feel any anger since I got pregnant with my 4th and now my growing 1 month boy. It was a life transformation and a beginning. Reborn. I wish you all mummies strength and love.

HS (VBA3C)
"If you can go normal (varginal delivery) for your baby after 3-section, that is miracle" A comment I get from PUSRAWI gynae when I talked about possiblity to have VBA3C. "Whatever you read from internet is other school of thought, here in Malaysia we have our own rules & regulation. If you wanna VBA3C you can go elsewhere!!" An arrogant remark from gynea at PRINCE COURT hospital. Llittle Courage... Hopeless.. Bring me to Wai Han's blog.. Inspiration even bigger when I get to know Sofia Azyze (VBA4C) via FB... And finally my vision more clearer after attended Maria Zain's class. Inspiration, courage, knowledge that been shared with the people in same boat is sooooo meaningful and left you are not alone. MasyaAllah. VBA3C...I did it!! And you will, too. Insha Allah.

SA (VBA4C)
I have 4 scars (2003, 2005, 2007, 2010). My scars had endured 30 hours of active labor and I had successfully gentle birth a 4.2 kg baby in 2012, all natural without any medication. Only we know how strong our womb is. Now when I look at my scars, it smiles back to me.

MZ (VBA3C):
Past is past, let bygone be bygone, if the scars were due to our own ignorance last time, then this is the time to do it right - learn, learn and learn! Dig as much as possible about natural physiological birth. The more u learn, the less u fear. Now u know that regardless the number of previous scars that u have, you still got THE CHANCE TO VBAC! The term - "say good bye to vaginal birth after 2nd csection" is NO LONGER VALID! We have more and more local living proofs around! LEARN & HAVE FAITH!

SK (VBA2C)
Dear sisters who tried to VBAC but ended up with another cut, don't let that bring you down. Have faith that it will make you more stronger. Csect is not a minor thing and you survived it.. That shows how strong you are! InsyaAllah now that you're stronger you can conquer VBAMC in the future!

25 Rules for Mothers of Sons

Salam Jumaat peeps,
(ya now i now some of the daddies in my office (and in hubby's office too...ya ya..you la siapa lagi) reads this blog so greeting mommies are somehow not relevent anymore)

One of my best reads :)
Come let's read.

I was raised by a working mom, so i do not really see how working mom's cannot raise children well.
For me, some time off from the children, makes the heart grow fonder and we try to appreciate every single moment together. Weekends will be the utmost time.

It's really an individual decision.
To stay at home or to work.
Doesn't really make you a good or bad mother ;p
There is no such thing as a bad mom. A bad person doesn't deserves to be a mother :)

Go through the rules.
I foremost thank my MIL for bringing up a wonderful helpful and thoughtful person my husband is now :')

From here
25 Rules for Mothers of Sons
1. Teach him the words for how he feels.
Your son will scream out of frustration and hide out of embarrassment.  He’ll cry from fear and bite out of excitement.  Let his body move by the emotion, but also explain to him what the emotion is and the appropriate response to that emotion for future reference.  Point out other people who are feeling the same thing and compare how they are showing that emotion.  Talk him through your emotions so that someday when he is grown, he will know the difference between angry and embarrassed; between disappointment and grief.
2. Be a cheerleader for his life.
There is no doubt that you are the loudest person in the stands at his t-ball games.  There is no doubt that he will tell you to “stop, mom” when you sing along to his garage band’s lyrics.  There is no doubt that he will get red-faced when you show his prom date his pictures from boy scouts.  There is no doubt that he is not telling his prom date about your blog where you’ve been bragging about his life from his first time on the potty to the citizenship award he won in ninth grade.  He will tell you to stop.  He will say he’s embarrassed.  But he will know that there is at least one person that is always rooting for him.
3. Teach him how to do laundry.
..And load the dishwasher, and iron a shirt.  He may not always choose to do it.  He may not ever have to do it.  But someday his wife will thank you.
4. Read to him and read with him.
Emilie Buchwald said, “Children become readers on the laps of their parents.”  Offer your son the opportunity to learn new things, believe in pretend places, and imagine bigger possibilities through books.  Let him see you reading…reading the paper, reading novels, reading magazine articles.  Help him understand that writing words down is a way to be present forever.  Writers are the transcribers of history and memories.  They keep a record of how we lived at that time; what we thought was interesting; how we spoke to each other; what was important.  And Readers help preserve and pass along those memories.
5. Encourage him to dance.
Dance, rhythm, and music are cultural universals.  No matter where you go, no matter who you meet – they have some form of the three.  It doesn’t have to be good.  Just encourage your son that when he feels it, it’s perfectly fine to go ahead and bust a move.
6. Make sure he has examples of good men who are powerful because of their brains, their determination, and their integrity.
The examples of men with big muscles and a uniform like Batman will surround your son from birth.  But make sure he also knows about men who kick a$s because of their brains (Albert Einstein), and their pen Mark Twain, and their words (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), and their determination (Team Hoyt), and their ideas (The Wright Brothers), and their integrity, and fearlessness (Neil Armstrong), and their ability to keep their mouths closed when everyone else is screaming (Jackie Robinson).
7. Make sure he has examples of women who are beautiful because of their brains, their determination, and their integrity.
The examples of traditionally beautiful women (like Daphna Blake) will surround your son from birth.  But make sure he knows about women who are beautiful from the inside out because of their brains (Madame Maria Curie), and their pen (Harper Lee), and their words (Eleanor Roosevelt), and their determination (Anne Sullivan), and their ideas (Oprah Winfrey), and their integrity (Miep Gies), and fearlessness (Ameila Earhart), and their ability to open their mouths and take a stand when everyone else is silent (Aung San Suu Kyi).
8. Be an example of a beautiful woman with brains, determination, and integrity.
You already are all of those things.  If you ever fear that you are somehow incapable of doing anything - remember this:  If you have done any of the following:  a) grew life b) impossibly and inconceivably got it out of your body c) taken care of a newborn d) made a pain go away with a kiss e) taught someone to read f) taught a toddler to eat with a utensil g) cleaned up diarrhea without gagging h) loved a child enough to be willing to give your life for them (regardless if they are your own) or i) found a way to be strong when that child is suffering...you are a superhero.  do not doubt yourself for one second.  Seriously.
9. Teach him to have manners.
Because its nice.  and it will make the world a little better of a place.
10. Give him something to believe in.
Because someday he will be afraid, or nervous, or heartbroken, or lost, or just need you, and you won’t be able to be there.  Give him something to turn to when it feels like he is alone, so that he knows that he will never be alone; never, never, never.
11. Teach him that there are times when you need to be gentle.
Like with babies, and flowers, and animals, and other people’s feelings.
12. Let him ruin his clothes.
Resolve to be cool about dirty and ruined clothes.  You’ll be fighting a losing battle if you get upset every time he ruins another piece of clothing. Don’t waste your energy being angry about something inevitable.  Boys tend to learn by destroying, jumping, spilling, falling, and making impossible messes.  Dirty, ruined clothes are just par for the course.
13. Learn how to throw a football.
Or how to use a hockey stick, or read music, or draw panda bears (or in my case alpacas), or the names of different train engines, or learn to speak Elvish, or recognize the difference between Gryffindor and Slytherin, or the lyrics to his favorite song.  Be in his life, not as an observer but as an active participant.
14. Go outside with him.
Turn off the television, unplug the video games, put your cellphone on the charger, even put your camera away.  Just go outside and follow him around.  Watch his face, explore his world, and let him ask questions.  It’s like magic.
15. Let him lose.
Losing sucks.  Everybody isn’t always a winner.  Even if you want to say, “You’re a winner because you tried,” don’t.  He doesn’t feel like a winner, he feels sad and crappy and disappointed.  And that’s a good thing, because sometimes life also sucks, no matter how hard (as moms) we try to make it not suck for our kids.  This practice will do him good later when he loses again (and again, and again, and again, and again…..)  Instead make sure he understands that – sometimes you win – sometimes you lose.  But that doesn’t mean you ever give up.
16. Give him opportunities to help others.
There is a big difference in giving someone the opportunity to help and forcing someone to help.  Giving the opportunity lights a flame in the heart and once the help is done the flame shines brighter and asks for more opportunities.  Be an example of helping others in your own actions and the way your family helps each other and helps others together.
17. Remind him that practice makes perfect.
This doesn’t just apply to performance-based activities (like sports and music) but also applies to everything in life.  You become a better writer by writing.  You become a better listener by listening.  You become better speaker by speaking.  Show your son this when he is just young enough to understand (that means from birth, folks – they are making sense of the world as soon as they arrive), practice trick-or-treating at your own front door before the real thing.  Practice how you will walk through airport security before a trip.  Practice how you order your own food from the fast food cashier.  Practice, practice, practice.
18. Answer him when he asks, “Why?”
Answer him, or search for the answer together.  Show him the places to look for the answers (like his dad, or grandparents, or his aunts/uncles, or his books, or valid internet searches).  Pose the question to him so he can begin thinking about answers himself.  Someday, when he needs to ask questions he’s too embarrassed to ask you – he’ll know where to go to find the right answers.
19. Always carry band-aids and wipes on you.
Especially the wipes.
20. Let his dad teach him how to do things.
…Without interrupting about how to do it the ‘right way.’  If you let his dad show and teach and discover with your son while he is growing up, some day down the road (after a short period of your son believing his dad knows nothing), he will come to the realization that his dad knows everything.  You will always be his mother, but in his grown-up man heart and mind, his dad will know the answers.  And this will be how, when your son is too busy with life to call and chat with his mom,  you will stay connected to what is happening in his life.  Because he will call his dad for answers, and his dad will secretly come and ask you.
21. Give him something to release his energy.
Drums, a pen, a punching bag, wide open space, water, a dog.  Give him something to go crazy with – or he will use your stuff.  and then you’ll sorry.
22. Build him forts.
Forts have the ability to make everyday normal stuff into magic.  Throw the couch cushions, a couple blankets, and some clothespins and you can transform your living room into the cave of wonders.  For the rest of his life, he’ll be grateful to know that everyday normal stuff has the potential to be magical.
23. Take him to new places.
Because it will make his brain and his heart open up wider, and the ideas and questions and memories will rush in.
24. Kiss him.
Any mother of sons will tell you that little boys are so loving and sweet.  They can be harsh and wild and destructive during most of the day.  But there are these moments when they are so kind and sensitive and tender.  So much so that it can cause you to look around at the inward, reserved grown men in your life and think, ‘what happens in between that made you lose that?’  Let’s try to stop the cycle by kissing them when they’re loving and kissing them even more when they’re wild.  Kissing them when they’re 2 months and kissing them when they’re 16 years old.  You’re the mom – you can go ahead and kiss him no matter how big he gets – and make sure he knows it.   p.s. (this one is just as important for dad’s too).
25. Be home base.
You are home to him.  When he learns to walk, he will wobble a few feet away from you and then come back, then wobble away a little farther and then come back.  When he tries something new, he will look for your proud smile.  When he learns to read, he will repeat the same book to you twenty times in a row, because you’re the only one who will listen that many times.  When he plays his sport, he will search for your face in the stands.  When he is sick, he will call you.  When he really messes up, he will call you.  When he is grown and strong and tough and big and he feels like crying, he will come to you; because a man can cry in front of his mother without feeling self-conscious.  Even when he grows up and has a new woman in his life and gets a new home, you are still his mother; home base, the ever constant, like the sun.  Know that in your heart and everything else will fall into place.

Happy weekends guys!

Love,

Zahra

Tadika Arif Minda :: Bandar Saujana Putra

Assalamualaikum wbt mommies!
Nice Wednesday morning isnt it?Gloomy and raining and cold.
Nice if i could get my dose of kopi 0 and nasi lemak.
And a pillow afterwards.

...

As promised before, here is my review for Tadika Arif Minda BSP. We have attended Arif Minda's open day last Saturday, viewed the facility, meet and greet the teachers and paid registration fees just to ensure we got a place after the final review. The school itself,is a nice double storey corner lot House in Desa Saujana near to in BSP. A comfortable clean and new environment it really made me felt invited and cosy.

We were told that they accepted kids from as early as 3yrs old, 4,5 and 6 years old for a maximum 17-20 students per class. Each year has a class teacher, they have one cook and another two helpers in their facilities. Classes begins at 8am and ends at 12pm, and they offer day care afterwards charged either monthly or hourly depending on the parents choice.

Arif minda classes were taught in both Malay and English and they offer basic subjects which includes aqidah and tauhid and also basic elements like prayers, doa and Islamic akhlaq, which is a good start. Well, it is no harm in having this school for Iman's playschool.

Dari segi silibus sbnrnya saya pn xbrpa pandai nk komen Dan tak buat lg full in depth research utk sekolah sekolah lain, tp sekolah ni menitikberatkan galakan kpd anak sejauh mana dia boleh kehadapan. The learning sessions are thematic in accordance to the calender of the year, for example ramadhan,or maulidur rasul. Im not sure whether its a good method or not so we'll see how things goes on.

Other than that this school offers program membaca with Read Easy Ladybird and Bacalah Anakku and also Alfurqan Quran basis. They also offer PE, gardening activities, water play and also yearly sports day and graduation. So far so good.Just normal of what i expected a kindergarten would be.

Fees structure would be RM190 per month for school only without daycare and a registration and yearly fees (including uniform and Jan fees) of RM1324. For further details you can also log in their website Tadika Arif Minda

The brochure, and fees structure

The fee structure.Reasonable,eh?

My plan was to send iman here for two years and then continue with a basic Montessori oriented school to elevate his skills. Iman would be a great footballer/athlete as well from what i can observe now. You would definitely be awed in how hard he could kick a ball or throw a pen/toy directly aimed on something (like mommy or amsyar) (--").

I really hope Iman would enjoy and play and learn new things here. The most important thing is he is happy here and enjoy his introduction to school. For me, I am not really strict into yearly achievements academically but more onto character building, independence and self esteem integrated into Iman and also the first tints in tawheed knowledge. Iman enjoy yourself. Don't worry, just explore and learn and explore new world. There is so much out there for you :)

Take care Iman.
Mommy hope this school is good for you.

Love you always..

Mommy

Friday mornings-bicara hati jurutera picisan :)

Assalamualaikum.

Sekejap je dah hari Jumaat semula.

Dah lama rasanya tak meluahkan perasaan. Maaflah kalau tak suka.
Minggu ni mmg busy yang teramat, nk duduk buat dwg pun dh tak menyempat. Balik meeting, duduk sekejap kna pula hadiri meeting seterusnya. Asyik meeting sahaja bila nak buat kerja2 design nya.Tp klu tak meet and think, asyik lah bertubi2 email2 menanahkan peti inbox. Tp berapa ramai jer yang meet and think. Ramai je yang attend to meet. Tp taknak pun think and contribute :p

So in between, kita update blog dulu. And find out informations yg menjadikan hidup kita lebih bermakna dan bukan utk bekerja semata mata :)

Working here, mmg byk bertemu jumpa dgn org yang pelbagai. Berhadapan dgn manusia yang pelbagai kerenah, yang bercakap macam professionals tapi sebenarnya professional liars, mmg stress. Apa kita cakap, akan digunakan ke atas kita, demi kepentingan, demi menyelamatkan tengkuk sendiri. Yang mungkin dipenalti seposen dua. Bukan seposen dua lah klu dlm dunia perkilangan automotif. Agak lah cuba agak. Kita bukan menerap biskut, kita bercakap tentang menerap besi dan bijih. Klu terbaring org dlm nya skali terap, dah tak boleh beza mana kaki mana kepala. Nauzubillah.

Mmg susah. Bekerja di dunia bisness, mmg kena tegas, kena bertilamkan asas fakta, memang kadang2 nak nangis, bila design kita dipersoalkan. Design and development stage tentulah plg mencabar, tapi kita belajar utk menyempurnakan kesilapan kita yg terdahulu. Kadang kadang idea nak menyelesaikan masalah, dah habis pikir, balik rumah sambil goreng ayam pun dok terfikir lagi. Bukan senang nak duduk disini. Ramai dh berputus harap, berputus asa dan putus macam macam lagi..hehehe.Biarkan lah. Rezeki kan ada dimana mana.Yelah barang kita jual bukan sebarang rm10-20 ringgit. Kita jual bende org pakai hari hari, 7,8,9 tahun pun belum tentu habis bayar lagi.

Bercakap memang senang, nak komen lagilah senang. Tapi saya sudah kebal. Komenlah. Saya mendengar. Apa yg dlm kuasa saya, saya perbaiki.

Dangkal bukan?

Maaflah dgn kemahiran berbahasa yang mungkin canggung. Saya bukan org sastera. Org bijak menulis pun bukan. Saya hanyalah jurutera picisan.

Ahh..Tak sabar mahu pulang!!

Iman and his antics..

Iman is hitting 36mths next February. So its about time that his speech skills develops rapidly this time around. It is surely funny with what he usually utters out. Sometimes unpredictable and really genuinely frank. Haha.

Mommy just need to polish him a bit about being polite and thoughtful soon!

As usual i could not predict what new vocab he had just recently picked-up and i tried my best to teach him each new thing he asked in English. Yes, that's quite hard as both of us are hard-cored malay speakers. But it's really worth it so far with things around the house and in everyday environment.

He understands simple english like wash your hands, wash your face, wipe your mouth, throw the rubbish in the bin, keep your toys away, take your green stool, kick the ball, take one tissue for mommy,  and have a quite extended array of english nouns as well. Just simple things like train, horse, cat, dog, chicken, fork, spoon, ball (ha this one of course!), aeroplane, tunnel, car, bicycle, bug, butterfly and the list goes on. We will work with verbs after this. Inshallah!

There are some conversations that i found really funny on how he uses his words. Here are some.

M (mommy) : Iman, nape adik nangis? Iman pukul ke?
I (Iman) : Tak tahu. Bukan iman!
M : Iman usik ke?
I : Bukan!

I found him throwing the cake from his hands.
M : Iman jgn baling kek kalau taknak mkn
I : Tak baling. Kek jatuh.

I : Wow! Cantiknya! Wow!!
I was putting on make-up that time.
Thank you hunny bunny!

I : Amsyar, jgn ambil ni. Ni Abang punya!
We never taught him to call himself abang. Hehehe

I : Daddy, nak air oren (this was daddy's carbonated drink). Amsyar tak payah. Ni ubat!
Hahahahah.. amboi pandai ckp kat adik ni ubat..padahal dia nak.

Alaa.. tak ingat plak yang lain lain.
But Iman is really growing up mcm abg abg sket.
The brotherly manner is there, budding. Alhamdulillah.

Mommy hopes you grow up, independent, smart, and soleh Iman.
Amin!

I bought them both these two sets recently.
I think it's no problem for a lil boy to play with kitchen sets, As long as the sets are not really girlish, pink and all. It's not a bad thing, you know..as boys do cook.

What say you?

Till then,
